Friends of the Toronto Chapter of the Thyroid Foundation of Canada
We are concerned past and present members and friends of the Thyroid Foundation of Canada, Toronto Chapter who are interested in promoting the thyroid patient support activities of the Toronto chapter. The chapter has operated nearly continuously since 1981, providing thyroid educational meetings, telephone helpline, and up-to-date thyroid diseases information to thousands of people in the Toronto area. This had been made possible by valuable volunteer input and support from health professionals. Due to financial cutbacks, however, without continued financial support, the chapter may have to discontinue its services. (Please see our Thyroid History Section to learn more about our past activities.)
We need your help! But you will gain in return . . .
If you wish to help, and gain in return, here’s what you can do: For a suggested minimum contribution of $10.00 CAD an information packet of materials of respected thyroid information sources on all aspects of thyroid diseases will be sent to you by e-mail and/or regular post. (We will e-mail PDF files in colour brochure format.) The packet or PDF files will include the popular booklet “Common Concerns of Thyroid Patients” answering 23 common patient questions by the late Dr. Robert Volpe, OC, MD, FRCPC, MACP, a noted thyroid specialist.
You will also be given access to a password protected folder on this website where we will be adding additional materials as they becomes available. To help you decide, we are now providing a free PDF preview of four of our 14 health guide pamphlets on thyroid disease: Thyroid Facts, Thyroid Gland, Clinical Diagnosis and Hypothyroidism.
